Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between cosmetic grade and technical grade glycolic acid?
Cosmetic grades (Glypure®) are purified for skin and hair care and come with impurity data for formaldehyde and DCA. Technical Grade is made for industrial cleaning, metal finishing and water treatment, where chloride content and consistency matter most.
Should I use 70% solution or 99% crystalline glycolic acid?
Use a 70% solution for water-based formulas. Use Glypure® 99 crystals for anhydrous or low-water formats, or when you need precise control of free acid.
Which grade is registered as a disinfectant active?
Glyclean® D70 in the U.S. (EPA-registered Manufacturing Use Product) and Glyclean® D70E in Europe. Glyclean® D in Europe: Supported under EU & GB BPR (PT2, PT3, PT4).
What pack sizes are available?
From 250 kg drums and 1,250 kg IBCs to bulk tankers, ISO tanks and rail cars, depending on grade.
